The project is 7.3 kilometres wide asphaltic concrete carriageway with 2.75m wide surface dressed shoulders on either side. The sub-base and base was of lateritic material and made up to 200mm compacted thickness each on the extended width and scarified locations as relevant. Embankment slopes and cuttings were extended and shaped as appropriate. Drainage works will include provision and repair of culverts, provision of relevant side drains, kerbs, chutes and stone pitching.
